Inside Out
In 2015, Media had the privilege of being one of several regional towns selected to display high quality replicas of works owned by the Philadelphia Art Museum (formerly the Philadelphia Museum of Art.)
Borough officials, the Media Arts Council and the Media Business Authority collaborated with the museum to install twelve paintings at the following locations:
Mary Cassatt, Tot Lot, Third and Jackson streets
Thomas Moran, Courthouse, Front Street and Veterans Square
Henry Ossawa Tanner, Susquehanna Bank/Media Real Estate, South Orange and State streets
Claude Monet, Verizon Building (north side) State Street and Veterans Square
(Unknown) “Lotus” 19th Century Korea, Verizon Building (east side) Veterans Square
Juan Gris, Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union (east side) State and Olive streets
Paul Klee, Plum Street Mall (north end)
Vasily Kandinsky, Plum Street Mall (south end)
(Unknown) “Krishna and Radha” circa 1750 India, Olive Street Parking Garage, Baker Street
Marc Chagall, Media Armory/Trader Joe’s (entrance) State and Church streets
Pablo Picasso, Media Elementary School, Front and Monroe streets
Henri Rousseau, Olive Street Parking Garage (south side) Baltimore Avenue and Plum Street
Media Arts Council also produced docent-led guided tours, and maps for self-guided tours.
