Media Arts Council and Gallery invites regional artists to submit works for this year’s juried painting exhibition. The Media Arts Council welcomes all professional artists to submit images of paintings relating to their interpretation of the theme “Passage.”
Cash prizes: First place $300.00 Second place $200.00 Honorable Mention $100.00

Deadline to Apply: March 5, 2023
Delivery/Drop off artwork date (NO EXCEPTIONS): April 30, 2023, Noon to 4:00 PM, at the MAC Arts Center, 11 E State Street, Media, PA, 19063. Please bring an artist’s statement and short bio when delivering.
Exhibition dates: May 5 – 28, 2023
Opening Reception: May 5, 5:00 to 7:00 PM
Pick up date(s): May 28, 2023, 3:00 pm
Please do not ship your work until you speak with a gallery representative. Email exec@mediaartscouncil.org or call 484-445-4161. A computer generated return label for return of work MUST be enclosed. NO EXCEPTION.

ENTRY Registration and Fees: Online registration only using form below. Payments by credit card at time of entry.
There is a $35.00 entry fee for one to three artworks entered, presentation is by JPG image files. There is a $5.00 fee for each additional artwork. Limit of five artworks permitted.
Entry fee is non-refundable.
Eligibility and Restrictions: The competition is open to all regional professional painters. Paintings must be created using traditional media such as oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, and mixed media. Video, photography, graphic, digital or sculptural work will not be accepted at this time. All work must be original, completely finished, wired, and ready to hang. Maximum size for pieces is approximately 48” x 60”. Please label the back of each piece with your name and the title of the work. Failure to follow instructions may result in the nullification of your entry.
Accepted works must remain on exhibit for the duration. Artwork accepted into our previous juried exhibits cannot be resubmitted.
Sales/Commission: MAC takes 40% of sales. Pennsylvania sales tax should be included in the artist’s pricing.
Liability: While every effort to properly care for work is made, the Media Arts Council is not responsible for the loss or damage of work while in transit or during the exhibition. Artists should provide their own insurance coverage. Submission into the exhibition indicates acceptance of these conditions. A Hold Harmless Agreement will be signed upon delivery of your work.
Notification: Artists will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance no later than April 12, 2023 via email address submitted at time of entry.
File Formating and File Naming:
Please submit one digital image for each piece of artwork. All uploaded images must follow these specifications. We will not accept any works unless the file format, file name, and image sizes are as listed below:
File Format & Size: JPG – 2400px on longest side
File Name: First Last – Title of Work – Medium - Price.jpg
(Example: Andy Warhol – Soup Cans – Acrylic - 15000.jpg)
Files which are mislabeled or lack the artist’s name will not be viewed by the juror.
No POR (price on request) sales. Work not for sale must be marked NFS in the price section of the submission form.
