A Unique Opportunity for M.A.C. Registry Artists
Media Arts Council, in collaboration with Bryn Mawr Trust, Media, is offering artists the opportunity to exhibit their work in the State Street store front of Bryn Mawr Trust for one month.
Interested artists can apply through our online application [link].
Big Exposure in a Small Gallery
Eligible Artwork:
The M.A.C. Window Gallery is a public gallery space intended to bring accessible art to the community of Media. 2-D and 3-D artwork in a variety of media will be considered (given physical space limitations of the gallery). Exhibiting other artforms such as dance, theater, etc. can also be considered by the curator but may be limited by the size and features of the gallery space. All M.A.C. Registry Artists are welcome to apply. If you are not a M.A.C. Registry Artist, but would like to become one, please contact our Window Gallery Curator (email).
Given the public nature of the gallery space, all artwork should be appropriate for the entire community of Media. M.A.C. reserves the right to decline any individual work(s) of art due to inappropriate content.
Requirements of the Artists
Artists selected to exhibit will be contacted by the Window Gallery Curator and a one-month exhibit timeframe will be scheduled. Artwork is usually hung during the week prior to 2nd Saturday, and removed during the week prior to the following 2nd Saturday. Hanging/display of the artwork is the responsibility of the artist, but will be coordinated with the Window Gallery Curator.
Artists are expected to:
- Prepare all work for final display (M.A.C. does not provide any framing, pedestals, etc.)
- Schedule hanging and removal of artwork with the gallery curator. Please arrive promptly at the scheduled time with all materials you will need.
- Provide any descriptive display collateral such as a printed artist bio, labels, signage, etc. to be included in the display.
- Consider the physical space available. Will your artwork appropriately fill the space in order to create an engaging display for viewers? The gallery curator can provide suggestions in this area.
- Provide M.A.C. with an artist bio, exhibit description, or other descriptive content that may be used in promotion.
Sale of Artwork:
Because there is no permanent gallery attendant, sale of artwork must be arranged directly with the artist. Artists may include contact information (via signage) as part of their display so that interested patrons can contact them. Artists may also supply flyers, business cards, or other contact information that Bryn Mawr Trust can post inside the bank.
M.A.C. provides this exhibit opportunity as a benefit to Registry Artists. We welcome the opportunity to work with local artists and our gallery partner, Bryn Mawr Trust.
