What to do: Artists
Remember, our use of “artist” includes someone who produces visual art, live music, poetry, storytelling, dance, theatre, film and more!
- Read and understand the Overview and Guidelines. If you have any questions, please email our Artist Coordinator for visual art, and our Music Coordinator for performing artists.
- Join the Artist Registry. In addition to enabling you to participate in 2nd Saturday, it is also a great launching point for others to see your artwork, listen to your music, sample your poetry, etc. We will include a link to your website, if you have one.
- Respond. Businesses, or our 2nd Saturday Coordinators, will contact you to ask that you participate in specific months. Please arrange the details with the hosting business.
- Please be professional. Musicians, please start at your agreed time. Visual artists, please attend the event, and treat it like an opening. This is a chance to “meet the artist". It is not the business’ responsibility to sell your art: you should be there to help market it and help with any sales transaction. Please be considerate of your hosting business at all times, and of their need to conduct transactions without disruption to their customers.
- Questions? Our Artist and Music Coordinators are available for questions & suggestions on how to “break” into the 2nd Saturday scene.
- Get involved. Contact us if you would like to get involved in M.A.C.’s Artist Committee. They meet once a month and it is a great place to be on the inside track of upcoming art projects & to voice artistic directions.
