Get Involved… Volunteer with M.A.C.
Media Arts Council is able to thrive with the help of enthusiastic volunteers. Volunteering for M.A.C. is not just a great way to support the arts in Media, it's a great way to meet new people, make new friends, learn new skills, and exercise skills that you already have. Whether you just want to get your toes wet or dive right in, M.A.C. welcomes interested volunteers. Here are some of our needs:
- Communications: Graphic designers, editors, writers, social media mavens…help us communicate the great work M.A.C. is doing.
- Event coordination and set up: You can lead or just help in setting up the arts events that M.A.C. is known for. We always have room for experienced event planners, detail-oriented enthusiasts, or anyone who wants to run a few errands, set up a table, or any number of other tasks. Perhaps you’ll want to take on a smaller role and grow from there.
- Administrative: All skills welcome…artists need organization!
- Artists & photographers (even if you’re not professional): photographers and videographers to help document our events (for our blog, web site, etc.) and artists to help us make signs.
These are just some of the volunteer opportunities we have. If anything piques your interest, let us know. If you have other ideas for how you might want to get involved, let’s talk…we don’t mind getting creative.

POSITIONS NEEDED
Music Coordinator
We are looking for an energetic person who can network with musicians and help coordinate placement of acts for our 2nd Saturday Main Stage events. This very manageable but rewarding volunteer position puts you right in the middle of the Media music scene and connects you with the local community on many levels.
The Music Coordinator will contact musicians and performers to find acts for our 2nd Saturday Main Events for Jan., Feb., March, April, June, August, Sept., Nov., and Dec. You will be responsible for confirming Main Events and for assisting with set up and break down on 2nd Saturdays. The goal of the Main Event is to provide diverse and interesting performances and to draw an audience to State Street, Media.
This role will require familiarity with the Philadelphia area music and performance art scene and a willingness to reach out to artists to invite them to perform for 45 minutes in Media at M.A.C.'s budgeted rate. It will also require information to be stored and shared on M.A.C.'s Committee Wiki Page and will require ongoing email correspondence with performers and 2nd Saturday Committee.
M.A.C. will provide the Music Coordinator with: Wiki access, Musician email list, M.A.C. email, FMFCU and DCIS contact info along with ongoing support from the M.A.C. 2nd Saturday Committee.

Artist Coordinator
The Artist Coordinator will contact the M.A.C. Artist Registry each month with 2nd Saturday artist opportunities and place M.A.C. Registered Artists in suitable M.A.C. host businesses for each month of the year. The Artist Coordinator designates a participating artist to be the Featured Artist each month. The Artist Coordinator is responsible for communicating with artists and businesses to ensure that the artwork and business compliment each other.
This role will require familiarity with the M.A.C. participating businesses and the M.A.C. Artist Registry. It will also require information to be stored and shared on M.A.C.'s Committee Wiki Page and will require ongoing email correspondence with artists, et al.
MAC will provide Artist Coordinator with: Wiki access, Artist Registry email list, M.A.C. email, M.A.C. Business information, example emails, along with ongoing support from the M.A.C. 2nd Saturday and Artists Committee.
