The Media Arts Council is looking to the future with a variety of activities and initiatives that will not only sustain its current levels but expand into other cultural areas and community-related events. Some of our recent achievements include:
- An ongoing Exhibit Space with the Bryn Mawr Trust Window Gallery
- An enhanced web presence that can be maintained by board members and volunteers
- An extended social network that helps keep everyone informed
- Streamlined job descriptions and tasks to help facilitate cohesiveness and smooth turnovers
- The hiring of an Executive Director to facilitate ongoing external efforts, kick-start our Membership program, formalize our donor and sponsorship processes, and coordinate cross-committee communications where needed
- Initiate a local Outreach Program to help connect M.A.C. with the plethora of non-profits and community organizations around the area, such as the Delaware County Arts Consortium.
Let's Dream Big
What do you think Media needs? We have a lot of cool ideas. Many of them center around bringing bigger and better arts events to Media, providing even more opportunities for local artists, and pushing the arts envelope so that more and more of our community is exposed to all forms of art that ultimately enrich our lives. Wouldn't it be nice to have:
- A local art gallery that could be a venue for ongoing arts activities
- A virtual gallery to showcase art wherever you are
- Really interesting and refined performances and activities in Media that would attract a larger regional audience to our town.
- A more unified group of regional arts organizations that can address larger cultural concerns from government funding to specific arts initiatives.
Everything we do started with an idea and a willingness by someone to stand up and make it happen. We encourage this type of energy and look forward to your wild ideas or big dreams if it helps support our mission to bring art to the community of Media, PA.
