The Media Arts Council works to further its mission to actively support local artists and integrate a wide range of arts into the life of the entire community.

Bastille Day - July 12, 2014 - Second Saturday
Featuring the Eiffel Tower and Village de Artistes

Media Arts Council presents the Eiffel Tower and more at Media’s Bastille Day celebration! The Eiffel Tower will again appear in Veterans Square on Media’s Bastille Day celebration July 12th. Standing 26 feet high the Eiffel Tower, sculpted by artist Bok Read, was one of the highlights of last year's Bastille Day celebration. It is a marvel to see this impressive and graceful piece of sculpture on State Street. In France on the night of Bastille Day children carry lanterns through the streets of Paris. This year children will be able to carry lanterns down State Street. Paper lanterns will be at Veterans Square where the Media Arts Council will have its Village de Artistes. Other activities in the Village de Artistes will be face painting with a French flair, musicians, various street performers, and exhibits by local artists.

2nd Saturday Arts Stroll in Media, PA

On the 2nd Saturday of every month, over 30 businesses on and around State Street in Media stay open late as part of a free arts event. From 6:00 to 9:00 pm, shops, galleries and cafes host local musicians or display the work of local artists. Visitors can stroll the friendly streets of Media and use M.A.C. 2nd Saturday map to find music, art and participating shops.

2nd Saturday creates opportunities for local artists and musicians to share their talents. The Media Arts Council regularly holds gallery openings and special events as a part of 2nd Saturday.

2nd Saturday is a fantastic event for a date, for the family, or to go out with friends! The Arts Stroll is free of charge but requires the continued support of our sponsors, participating businesses, and gracious donors to make it happen. Please contribute today to the Media Arts Council.
