M.A.C. is excited to create a mosaic mural in Media with artist Claire Brill!  The mural will consist in part of 300 clay hand-shaped tiles that will be created by community members at a free workshop.  Come and be part of public art in Media!  Workshop will end when all 300 tiles are made.

Plum Street Mall, Media
The Borough of Media is celebrating the completion of the Streetscape Improvements for State Street.  From 3 to 5 pm there will be a magician and balloon artist.  Afterwards there will be live music, with a ribbon cutting at 5:30 to “flip the switch” that will turn on the new streetlights.  This leads in to Media's Second Saturday.

Popular Italian Opera arias, Ukrainian Folk Songs & works by Piazzolla & Mozart.  Children encouraged to attend.  Performers to talk about their instruments and the music.  Reception follows.  Free.  There will also be fundraiser where children & adults can print their handprint in the children's music room.

Over 30 businesses and organizations on and around State Street in Media stay open late as part of a free arts event.  Shops, galleries and cafes host local musicians or display the work of local artists.  Visitors can stroll the friendly streets of Media and use M.A.C.'s map to find music, art and participating shops.  It's like a monthly mini arts festival in Media!

Felted hats, bags and accessories are all the rage. Join us as we explore this cozy craze. Participants should bring approximately 200 grams of worsted or 100 grams of chunky weight 100% wool yarn and one pair of knitting needles sized 10 1⁄2 or 11.

Sam Lemon, from the Rose Tree Media School District, will be discussing his ancestors. They were slaves who escaped from Virginia and settled here in Media. Sam will use vintage photographs as well as historical documents and books to bring us all back to the days when horses and carriages could be seen making their way through Media, and when runaway slaves would risk their lives to be free.
