Want To Learn To Write a Screenplay? Now You Can Learn...

The Media Film Festival starts next week (Feb 23-25), and in conjunction with the Festival, M.A.C. is hosting educational workshops for the public.  You don't have to be an experienced filmmaker, but you can be.  Taught by accomplished filmmakers, these workshops will enlighten participants of all levels. Get your tickets right away to reserve your spot as space is limited. Workshops take place at the Media Community Center.

Media Film Fest Tickets Now Available!

M.A.C. is very excited to announce the 5th Annual Media Film Festival, Feb. 23rd-25th at the Media Community Center. Tickets are now available for three exciting nights of original film, selected from numerous submissions from local, national and international filmmakers.  Due to our overwhelming response last year,  we encourage you to get your tickets early. Each night's event will be held 7:00-10:30pm, with a special Horror Festival on Friday night after the main showing.

This has been an amazing year for the arts in Media. Many people have come together with time, ideas, energy and funding to support the Media Arts Council as we bring the arts to the community.

What's a Theramin? Find out at the 2nd Saturday Arts Stroll

The Main Event at this month's 2nd Saturday Arts Stroll will be award-winning theramin player, Kip Rosser, perfoming at the Delaware County Insitute of Science, December 10th at 7pm. Rosser will fascinate audiences with his mastery of this intriguing instrument combined with his theatrical and educational skills.
 

Films are coming in for the Media Film Festival

The Media Film Festival is gearing up with films arriving everyday. Volunteers are reviewing them to select films that will be featured.
 
Each year we receive more than twice as many films as we show. This year the ratio will be higher because we are advertising the festival on "Withoutabox", an online submission system. This is a big step as it means there will be many more films to review. The late submission deadline is January 2, 2012.

Gift Giving That Supports the Arts

Through the M.A.C. Holiday Campaign you can support the arts in Media for the coming year, while also getting unique M.A.C. gifts to give to a special person (or keep for yourself.) M.A.C. Tote Bags and Mug Sets feature full-color artwork of local artists.  Handmade scultural tiles are also available. Some gifts are accompanied by tickets to the popular Media Film Festival.

Celebrate Media 2011 Benefit for Media Non Profits

"Celebrate Media" is an entertainment showcase to be held at the Media Theatre (104 E. State Street, Media) November 9-11, 2011.  All proceeds from the "Celebrate Media" events will be donated to non-profit organizations in Media which enrich the community through their volunteerism and spirit.  Join us at the Media Theatre for Celebrate Media, three nights of art, music and performance to benefit many of the nonprofit organizations that strengthen our community.

Media ICONS Opens Next Weekend!

The 5th Annual Media ICONS Photography Ehibit will open Saturday October 8th, 6-9pm, during the 2nd Saturday Arts Stroll.
All are invited to appreciate the work of local and regional photographers and their own perspectives on the unque aspects of our lively hometown, Media, PA.
This is a juried exhibit. Winners will be announced and honored with cash prizes. Live music and light fare will make this an enjoyable event open to the public.  Don't miss it!
