Media's Bastille Day is a celebration of the French and American Revolutions. Great for kids and adults!
Some of the fantastically fun events from 5:30-10:30 pm are:
5:30-6:00 Chic Dog fashion & adoption event with Delco SPCA
6:00-6:30 Fair Trade Town Anniversary Celebration
6:30-6:45 Storming of the Bastille by Hedgerow Theatre
6:45-7:00 Performances by Hedgerow & Media Theatres & Award to WWII D-Day Veteran
7:15-7:30 Marching drills by Generals Washington & Lafayette with Media Youth Center
8:00-8:30 Cajun dance lessons by Vince Masciarelli
8:30-10:30 Dwayne Dopsie & the Zydeco Hellraisers
8:30-10:00 Sartre's No Exit at Media Theatre
8:30-10:30 Evan Almighty: Outdoor Family Movie Night by Media Recreation
Ongoing events through the evening:
This falls between the anniversaries of the American and French Revolutions: America's Fourth of July and France's Bastille Day on July 14.
State Street will be closed on one block (Olive Street to Jackson Street) to accommodate the performances. There will be Bastille Day arts events throughout 2nd Saturday Participating Businesses in Downtown Media.
Bastille Day is coordinated by the Media Arts Council, with the involvement of 12 other community groups!
This is a part of Media's Media's 2nd Saturday Arts Stroll, when over 40 businesses and organizations along State Street in Media host artists, musicians, poets, authors, dancers and other art forms.
